Americans will be required to obtain federally approved ID cards with "machine readable technology" that abides by Department of Homeland Security specifications. Anyone without such an ID card will be effectively prohibited from traveling by air or Amtrak, opening a bank account, or entering federal buildings. That sounds a little scary. As if we need another ID card, Homeland Security wants us all to have a smart ID card that we will keep us out of certian buildings even. This should raise some alarm bells. It would be very easy to miss use this type of thing depending on how it is implemented. If anybody knows more about it they should leave some comments or otherwise contact me.
